Treating cold or flu.

Natural ways in treating cold or flu….

Prevention is better than cure!

If you have these don’t just get medicine or any drug that have chemicals that can harm you, as long as you can hold the situation just let it be and try some alternative medicine has no chemical ingredient.

Though having colds is not easy it is very annoying especially if you have lots of work to do, sometimes fever may occur if this happens you’ll going to take some rest. When you have a cold or flu your body is under a lot of stress, fighting the viral infection. Big, heavy meals take vital energy to digest, resources which your body could be using to fight the infections. The best thing to do is drink plenty of liquids - water, fruit juices and if needed soups, but stay away from heavy and highly processed food. High liquid intake is important as the body uses water to carry waste products and toxins to your elimination systems.

The common cold is caused by any one of 200 different viruses. When infection occurs , the walls of the respiratory tract swell and produce excess mucus, giving rise to the typical cold symptoms. Symptoms range from sore throat, running nose, nasal congestion, watery eyes to hacking cough, headache, and fever. Most colds run their course in 7-10 days. Recurrent colds (almost constantly suffering) may indicate a lowered immune capacity and too much stress and often not enough sleep.

Colds spread from person to person and are highly contagious. Coughing, sneezing or hand to hand contact will easily pass the virus on. The virus can also live for several hours on everyday surfaces.

Here are some tips if you have colds and flu.

  1. Vitamin C is very good for the relief of cold symptoms and to help the body fight infection. Lemons are a rich source of vitamin c, and taken hot in a hot lemon and honey drink, is a traditional remedy for colds and sore throats. Other fruits contains citrus can also help like
  2. Drink Hot liquids it can relieve nasal congestion, help prevent dehydration, and can soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat.
  3. Blow Your Nose Often -- and the Right Way - It's important to blow your nose regularly when you have a cold rather than sniffling mucus back into your head. But when you blow hard, pressure can cause an earache.
  4. Take a steamy shower. Steamy showers moisturize your nasal passages and relax you. If you're dizzy from the flu, run a steamy shower while you sit on a chair nearby and take a sponge bath.
  5. Sleep with an extra pillow under your head. This will help with the drainage of nasal passages. If the angle is too awkward, try placing the pillows between the mattress and the box springs to create a more gradual slope.

Did You know... then we are using it everyday..

Did you know that most of us have plaque? Especially those who didn’t use floss. Gingivitis is an inflammation of the gums surrounding the teeth. Gingivitis is one of many periodontal diseases that affect the health of the periodontium (those tissues that surround the teeth and include the gums, soft tissues, and bone).

For gingivitis to develop, plaque must accumulate in the areas between the teeth. This plaque contains large numbers of bacteria thought to be responsible for gingivitis. That’s why using of floss everyday is important. But it is not simply plaque that causes gingivitis. Almost everyone has plaque on their teeth, but only a few develop gingivitis.

Gingivitis Symptoms
• Swelling, redness, pain, and bleeding of the gums are signs of gingivitis.
• The breath begins to take on a foul odor.
• The gums begin to lose their normal structure and color. The gums, which were once strong and pink, begin to recede and take on a beefy red, inflamed color.

Gingivitis usually precedes periodontitis. However, it is important to know that not all gingivitis progresses to periodontitis.

In the early stage of gingivitis, bacteria in plaque buildup, causing the gums to become inflamed (red and swollen) and often easily bleed during tooth brushing. Although the gums may be irritated, the teeth are still firmly planted in their sockets. No irreversible bone or other tissue damage has occurred at this stage.

When gingivitis is left untreated, it can advance to periodontitis. In a person with periodontitis, the inner layer of the gum and bone pull away from the teeth and form pockets. These small spaces between teeth and gums collect debris and can become infected. The body's immune system fights the bacteria as the plaque spreads and grows below the gum line.

Treatment
Treating gingivitis requires a regular and thorough oral hygiene regimen. I know in your mind that you have to Brush your teeth every after meal and used Mouthwash. Though some doctor recommend and some of us are commonly using it.
But for sure we all know that toothpaste and mouth wash contains chemicals that according to the manufacturers are efficient in cleaning your mouth. They’re not enlightening the consumer that using of such chemicals can be harm.

Toothpaste and Mouthwash main ingredients is

Fluoride but did you know it is banned in countries such as Norway, Spain, Denmark ,France and Australia? Studies showed it causes dental fluorosis, bone disease, and mental deficiencies.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS).
This chemical gives your toothpaste a foaming action to look like it is cleaning. What you don’t know is that SLS is a skin irritant used in testing labs to determine whether a product really works on the skin or not. It is also an ingredient for garage floor cleaners and car wash soaps.

Alcohol.
Mouthwashes contain alcohol levels up to 26% which is higher than beers and wines. Alcohol is a drying agent which means it makes your mouth dry. Bacteria multiply outrageously in a dry environment so when you use mouthwash you are actually breeding them.

Recent studies have reported that mouthwashes only temporarily mask the odor of bad breath for as little as 10 minutes after brushing. In fact, because they contain alcohol, mouthwashes can actually make the situation worse by drying out the mouth creating a more hospitable environment for odor causing bacteria.
After reading all of those, the question is, what supposedly are we using instead of toothpaste and mouth wash in cleaning our teeth? Well there are some natural product that hasn’t contains those chemical ingredients. Example is a salt solution it is much more effective and safe, you can also see the product ingredient label if it contains those chemical that can be harm.
